REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - Stick and Stones
The Jews brought before the Lord a woman caught in adultery. Jesus silenced them by showing them that they were not faultless. In a world where everyone is a sinner, the blame game or finger-pointing solves nothing. In our survivalistic struggle amidst the evil that abounds in this world, let us not be fault-finders but fault-menders. Let us always bear in mind that the best way to dispel darkness is not by cursing darkness but by lighting a candle.
LENTEN CALENDAR FOR YOUR SYNOD JOURNEY - April 1-7
Fast from Idle Gossip - Feast on Purposeful Silence
Spouses or children, parents or parishioners, we love those in our special relationships but can chafe against the frustrations of disagreement, unhappiness, or discontent. Inviting conversation, and offering silence to reflect and listen can ease the tension, clear the air, and allow us to see the limitless blue sky behind the occasional dark cloud.
Almsgiving: Offer to host a Synod conversation at your home with family and friends or in your parish. Take notes or record your conversations, if that’s agreeable, to share with our Synod journey, or embrace this process for your personal exploration
Prayer: Offer up a Stations of the Cross, giving thanks for the sacrifice of Jesus for all of us and the invitation issued by Pope Francis to share in this journey.
