NOTE: This is to inform Parishioners that I will be away from June 12th for the funeral and burial of my late father Mr. Francis Obichukwu Nnajiofor. And because of this, there will be no Weekend Masses in St. Agnes Little Dover and St. Vincent de Paul Queensport from June 18th- July 3rd. Masses will resume in these two churches on the weekend of July 9/10th. Asking for your prayers for a successful and safe trip.
REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - We too are Missionary Disciples
Jesus sent out seventy-two disciples ahead of him to prepare the ground for his own ministry later. He gave them definite instructions. He endowed them with the special powers that only he could give. The first missionaries were more than successful in their mission. Look how Jesus himself rejoices and thanks God for the great things his disciples were able to perform in his name! What was the secret of their success? They were aware of the fact that they were on a mission, specially chosen and sent out by Jesus. Secondly, they were aware that their mandate was to preach and teach what they learnt from him, and not their wisdom. Thirdly, they relied on his power and presence, not on their strength or on the security of material possessions. This is the recipe for the success of the missionary work. This also explains why some missionary efforts do not bear fruit even after so many years of hard labour.
