REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - Sharing and Participating in the Mission of the Lord Jesus reads out the purpose of His coming into the world. The focus of His ministry is the poor. Jesus walks into the house of a man who considers himself unworthy to have Jesus under his roof; He touches those who are untouchables, unworthy in the eyes of society; He allows Himself to be touched by those who are considered unworthy to touch Him; He eats and drinks with those who have no status in society. The goal of His ministry is not merely healing and feeding but giving dignity to human beings. The lines of the scroll that He reads clearly gives the message that the ‘have-nots’ will have the Kingdom. We belong to a Church, whose mission is mainly to the poor, the deprived and the needy. Does that mean it is not for the rich? No, they too, are poor in many ways, often lonely, anxious, lacking peace. Christ came to bring peace, healing, joy to all who lack any of those fruits of the Spirit. We can be instruments of this good news. We must be instruments of this good news, if we are truly followers of Christ. The question then becomes: What is the purpose of my life as a disciple of Jesus? How do I share and participate in the Mission that Jesus has already established on earth?

NOTICE: This is to inform all the parishioners that I will be away for some weeks visiting my family back home. Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year!

NOTE - The parish office will be open Monday and Thursday mornings, 9:00 - 12:00 (approximately) until Fr. Jonathan returns. Please call or message Marie before coming to the office.
